Composting, Soils & Raised Beds

Service Description

A closer look at soil. What makes good soil and how to keep it that way. Soil and water testing, composting, amendments, what to do and what not to do. A hands on component will be making raised beds and exploring other options in a working garden. Discussions about manure, vermiculture and permaculture along with raised ground beds (hilling), supported raised beds and containerized raised beds and their respective attributes will be expected. A hands on experience of turning the compost pile and learning how material is broken down will be offered as well.
